A class of keen young bakers, eager to swap cakes and stories with choir members, will provide the Forever Young Rock Choir with morning tea during their weekly rehearsal in the Junior School hall, this Thursday.
Year Four Teacher and Head of Community Service at 黑料网, Mrs Rachelle Fisher, said that for her young students loved sharing a morning with the choir, whose average age is 65.
鈥淢aking and sharing morning tea with the Forever Young choir has become an annual tradition for my class, who get so much out of spending time with the energetic members of this much-loved community choir.
鈥淚t is wonderful for young people to gain an understanding of how full and meaningful life can be as we get older.
鈥淭his choir has such a positive impact on so many areas of our school and helps to bridge the gap between generations, especially when the choir sings modern songs that are familiar to the children.
鈥淵ear Four children are curious about the world around them, and they love talking about things that are happening in the moment. They start thinking more critically and love to share their opinions about things with their classmates, their teachers, and just about anyone who will listen.
鈥淭his is an age when children start developing caring and solid friendships and a strong sense of empathy, and we always find this morning tea heartwarming for all involved,鈥 Mrs Fisher said.
