Three Year 7 Girton Grammar students including brother and sister twins, have endured a grueling selection process to be selected for the prestigious Gondwana Voices national choir, joining the most accomplished choral groups of young people in Australia.
Headmaster of 黑料网, Mr Matthew Maruff, said that Gondwana Choirs, including the Gondwana Voices choir, are synonymous with performance excellence.
鈥淭his is such a wonderful opportunity for our students, Hamish and Emma Sin, whose voices are beautifully complementary, and for Jacob McKenzie.
鈥淛acob and Hamish have been in the Gondwana Voices before so they have been accepted for a second time into this prestigious choir. They have also performed extensively in Melbourne.
鈥淭hrough the Gondwana Voices choir these young people will have access to world-class training by leading artists and be part of a group of equally passionate and talented young singers.
鈥淥ur Concert Choir in which both boys currently sing, and Girton Singers in which Emma sings, have been the ideal training ground for them, and all three children sang in our award-winning Junior School Choir,鈥 Mr Maruff said.
Gondwana Voices聽is the original, truly national Australian children’s choir, founded in 1997. It includes young people aged 10鈥16 from right across Australia. Gondwana Choirs regularly perform with Australia鈥檚 leading professional ensembles and orchestras, at major national and international events, on radio and television, as well as recording for album release and film soundtracks.
鈥淭he discipline required to produce quality sound from a young choir is no small feat and it will be wonderful to have Hamish, Emma and Jacob bring back all of their expertise to the School,鈥 Mr Maruff said.
